We are proud to offer you Salmon Returning Home, our first collaboration with another Indigenous artist. This legging is an online purchase only and cannot be purchased for retail.

Trevor Angus, a Gitxsan Artist, is from Kispiox BC. He is a master carver and a graduate from the Kitanmaax School of Northwest Coast Indian Art in Hazelton BC. Trevor also works with silver and gold. You can find him on facebook at 'Trevor Angus Gitxsan Artist'.

Salmon is a one of the major staples for Indigenous people. For Gitxsan people, we rely on the salmon each year to feed us for the year. We harvest the salmon and prepare them in various ways that will last us all winter long. Our smoke houses, canners and freezers are filled in the summer and we are sustained all winter.

The salmon people travel past our villages and it is because they travel along our waterways we live where we live. They return to the spawning grounds and we must do our part to protect these grounds and the waterways. Our elders, who were taught by their elders, you must not waste anything from the water so we utilize as much as the salmon as we can and we never take more than we need. By doing this, we ensure that the generations that follow will enjoy this tasty treat from Mother Earth.

Available in blue, red and white (slightly different design).

So comfortable and beautiful you can wear them while working out or at work. Each piece is hand sewn, printed and made with fabric milled in Canada. The 88% poly / 12% spandex blend performance wear is made exclusively for this compression fit legging that will hug you in all the right places. The wide waist band will keep your feeling confident and beautiful all day.
